Higher Everyday Devotional By Pastor W.F Kumuyi, June 5

"For I will declare my iniquity; I will be sorry for my sin" (Psalm 38:18).

In January, 2015, a young driver was driving recklessly from the city of Ibadan to Akure town in Western Nigeria. His speed and the audacity with which he maneuvered around several vehicles made several passengers to scream in fear. The young driver, however, sped on with reckless abandon, not mindful of any road signs and the driving code. Tragedy was not far away; soon after he overtook a vehicle immediately in front of him, he crashed onto the back part of an expensive jeep as he tried to overtake it.

The middle aged owner of the jeep came out of his vehicle, with an angry look on his face, and moved toward the reckless driver.

The guilty driver immediately prostrated before him in the centre of the dusty road, and he just kept repeating the phrase: "I am sorry, pardon meBaba pardon me." The jeep owner stared at him briefly, shook his head and walked away. He pardoned him. Learn to be quick to say "I am sorry," both to your God and to any mankind you offend.
