Topic-  She Cried Out To Jesus (1)

    Scripture Reading- Matthew 8:1-17

A story was told of a girl, named Army, born of a non-Christian family in seria. Army was taught by her parents and religious leaders to believe that women had little value; and each time she demanded simple explanations for this, she was mercilessly beaten. Army then turned to Jesus saying "Lord why am I created an Uncleaned personality? why was I created less intelligent that men have dominion over me?" Her family beliefs were that a woman had no guarantee where she will spend eternity; even if she lived a good life. This religious belief negates God's love for all His creation. No wonder St. Augustine of Hippo said, " The very limit of human blindness is to glory in being blind." In Gods arrangement and providence, at Eighteen, Armies family relocated to Egypt from Seria. There, Army summed up the boldness of renouncing her parent's religion. She stopped praying, fasting, and all sorts of religious practices.

However, Army felt she had lost everything when her thre-year-old marriage broke down. Often, Army contemplated suicide but had n heart to carry it out. One day, army was invited to a Church by one of her colleagues; but she could not be convinced with the following statement: JESUS IS GOD, HE IS THE SON OF GOD AND AT THE SAME TIME MAN. She could not comprehend them. But she said. "Gos I am not going to be deceived again, And if Jesus is truly your Son and God and died on the Cross for me, to be forgiven, You must prove it to me."

Unlike Army, the Roman Officer in the Scripture reading today, had no doubt of their person of Jesus. Hence, he aid, "I do not deserve to have you come into my house. Jesus give the order, and my servant will get well" (v.8)

Beloved, who is Jesus to yo; do you actually know Him?  Does Jesus have any authority over your life? or do you see Him just as the son of Mary and Joseph the carpenter? Do you recognize Him as God? Dear friend, does the name JESUS elicit any feeling within you? Who is Jesus to you? to be continued tomorrow.
