    JOY AHEAD

    Scripture Reading: Hebrew 12:2

The devil knows the glorious tomorrow that that awaits every believer in Christ who crosses the finish line if the Christian race. This is why he fights ferociously to derail us from reaching the goal.

Catholic Daily Mass October 21, 2017

He has tasted the heavenly bliss that will be our reward, but he lost his place due to evil thoughts (Isaiah 14:12-15); and does not want us to taste what he lost. Therefore, he employs all manners of weapons to ensnare believers in Christ (Ephesians 6:11). Those who are unable to bear pull out of heaven’s marathon before getting to the finish line. Such people are described in 4:17 thus: “And they have no root in themselves, but endure for a while, then, when tribulation and persecution arises on account of the word, immediately they fall away.”Hear what St. John Eudes says, “The Christian life is a continuation and completion of the life of Christ in us. We should be so many Christs on earth; continuing his work, laboring and suffering in a wholly divine manner in the spirit of Jesus” Our Daily Manna

The way of the cross that leads to haven is not a path laden with gold and easy to walk. It is deceptive and a lie from the pit of hell that all will be smooth sailing the moment you accept the Lord. It is pertinent to know, beloved in Christ, that the day you signed up for Christ, Satan’s Kingdom is depopulated and the battle line is drawn between you and the Kingdom of darkness to snatch you back. From that day, you become a sworn enemy of the forces of darkness.

His plan is to make you feel miserable. This should not agitate a believer in Christ Jesus because of the blessings and joy ahead of as many as wait on him are unimaginable, in fact, indescribable. St. Paul confirms this to the Corinthian Christians in these words, “Eyes have not seen nor ears heard, nor has it entered the heart of man, what things God had prepared to those who love him.” (1 Cor. 2:9). You may be going through untold hardship now. Your business may be suffering a decline now. You may be facing rejection, deprivation and depression now’ the Holy Spirit says to you “Be of good cheers because joy shall come in the morning. There is joy at the other side if the sea.
