    Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 33: 1-3

Let us start today’s reflection with this beautiful prayer from St. Anslem, “O Lord our God, grant us the grace to desire you with the whole of our heart, that in desiring you we may seek and find you; that finding you we may love you. And loving you we may despise the sins you have redeemed us.”

The Psalmist say, “I keep the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. You show me the path of live, in your presence there is fullness of joy; in Your right hand are pleasures forever” (Psa. 16: 8-11).

Believers should seek and cherish above all else intimate fellowship with God; because the Lord’s continues presence at our right hand brings His counsel, joy, resurrection, and eternal blessings. Friends, believers perceive God differently; due to their daily life experiences, character and human differences. These differences, determine not only their perception of God, also how they relate to Him. Some perceive God as their sunshine, to their star, while to others the air that they breathe. In all these, the reality which is certain is that God is always with us; He never abandons us (Jn. 14: 18).

One other reality is that God is awesome, majestic, loving and the treasury of His compassion is unlimited. He knows us through and through. He know our weaknesses, strength (if any) and the secret content of our hearts. Another reality therefore is that there is nothing anyone can do without Him. Hence out Lord Jesus says, “……. Apart from me you can do nothing……” (Jn 15: 5,6).Our daily hearts cries and struggles, therefore, should be, to know the Lord and have a personal relationship with Him.

This should be our preoccupation and earnest desire of our hearts. Hear the Psalmist, “As the deer longs for flowing streams, so my soul longs for you O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. I shall come to behold the face of God” (Psa. 42: 1,2). We should have insatiable longing for God which is achieved by doing the things that please Him. Develop an attitude of studying His word daily, pray at all times, ensure that His praise is always in your lips and devote your time and talent to His service. You are created to his glory.
