Avoid over-eating and alcoholic drinks. Eating too much is harmful to the body's metabolism. ln the February 5, 2010 issue of "Cell," researchers at Harvard School of Public Health reported that overeating may destroy your body's regular metabolic response. Hence Benjamin Franklin said, "One should eat to live, not live to eat." People who over eat run the risk of developing health disorders such as diabetes and obesity.

Taking of alcoholic beverages on the other hand gradually destroys the kidneys and liver of the drunkard, apart from making him or her a menace to the society.

This was why Seneca declared that, "Drunkenness is nothing else but a voluntary madness." Christians are advised to eat moderately and to abstain completely from alcohol. Habits are not formed in a day but through series of acts. As a youth you can prevent the habit of overeating and drunkenness by personal discipline to avoid the acts.

More importantly, God can empower you for the life of victory through salvation in Christ. Surrender your life to Jesus now.

    Challenge: Be disciplined in eating.
Prayer: Help me Lord, to control my appetite.
Quote: God can empower you for a life of victory
Bible Reading in one Year: Deuteronomy 21:20-21.
