I appreciate the difficulty of focusing on God at all times .it could be very difficult for failures are bound to occur .why ? well  I think it has to do with what we allow into our lives that can distract us from God, Kempis said “the interior man prefer the care of him, self to all other care; and he who diligently attend to himself is easily silent with regard to others”(imitation of Christ bk.,11,5,2)not all of these thing are bad in their nature …in fact a lot aren’t but they become a problem when we allow them to distract tus from focusing on the essence of life ,Jesus Christ .what are dose thing that distract us from God and what can we do to avert them?

1 MONEY :we all need money to live in this world ,but we must often forget that we are pilgrims in this world: when the quest for money gain and upper hand in our lives. St. Matthew reminds us do not store up ourselves on earth ,where  moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal .but store up your treasures in heaven, where moth and rus do not destroy, and where thieves don’t break in and steal . for where your treasure is there your heart will be also (Matt.6:19-21)
2     MEDIA this is probably the biggest distraction for money of us right now .our concern is the internet, television, movies ,music, video-games, newspapers magazine all of it the key to overcoming the media is being wise in what we read watch play, etc  and how much time we spend on them. we should always be willing to give them  up and quite honesty, some of the things we indulge in media (in the media )we need to give them up. If a thing is filthy no matter what how attractive it may seem. St.Teresa says, life passes so quickly that we ought to think more of how to die than to live

    1.    Pray for mercy for the times you have allowed worldly things to distract you
    2.    Lord Jesus, You are the goal of all our desires, the satisfaction of all our longings, and the end of all our work. Help me seek and find You in all that I do, in Jesus name (three times).
