    Today, daily strength devotional calls on her user to a 5-day end of the year fasting and prayers. In truth, of all the things Jesus suffered perhaps what hurt Him most was the failure of His friends.     Brethren, fasting makes prayer effective but can be rendered ineffective by sin and unrepentance. It is important to repent and turn to God if you desire positive result from this 5- day end of the year fasting and prayers. Repentance is the only condition necessary for forgiveness. There is no forgiveness without repentance. You have to stop keeping that immoral relationship, you have to stop stealing, you have to stop gossiping and blackmailing and you have to stop fornication, adultery, masturbating, homosexualism, lesbianism and all forms of sinful expression of sex. Quit all forms of ungodly relationships and be decent in your dressing. Stop watching and promoting pornography, etc.

     Stop bearing grudges, oppressions, revenge and consulting demonic agents of any form. Repent from bearing false witness, ungodly anger, drunkenness, addiction to drugs and smoking, stop lying and use of insulting words. Avoid being disrespectful, selfish and greedy. Be humble and avoid pride. As you commence the fasting today acknowledge any of these that have become part of your life. Sincerely and painstakingly admit them before the Throne of God and decide with the available grace right now never to do them again. Make sure you forgive and let go of all bitterness. This is necessary for your fasting to get dramatic positive results. Learn this divine truth, no matter how much we fast and pray, if we are bitter and you would not forgive those that have hurt us, our prayers may be hindered (Psa. 66:18)

    Prayer Point:
    1.    Lord Jesus, I invite you into my heart anew today, and I ask forgiveness for all of my sins. Jesus, thank you for dying for my sins and for forgiving me of them through your shed Blood on the cross. Please take away all the sinful “old things” in my heart that defile me, and replace them with the “good things” that you desire to grow in my life. Place wash away all my
