To till your land means that you should prepare it by plowing or harrowing it for growing crops. The main occupation in Bible times was farming and it was a family business. It provided food for the family and it was also a source of income. Our text today commends the person who tills his land and condemns the one who is wayward and idle. To till your land in our context, is to work on your venture; whether business or academics. If you want your business to prosper, you must plan and do all things necessary for it to bring profit. The student who hopes to have excellent result never fails to study diligently. The sportsman tills his land by daily practice. Higher Everyday

My dear friend, are you preparing for the future? Let me remind you of the words of Theodore Roosevelt, "I never won anything without hard labour and the exercise of my best judgment and careful planning and working long in advance." The professor, doctor, pastor and business leader of tomorrow is a learner today. Pray for grace to learn well and prosper.
Challenge: The future begins today; work for it.

Prayer Higher Everyday: Lord, help me not to follow wayward boys and girls.

Quote: Pray for grace to learn well and prosper
